A schedule you can send
A neighbour asks for your tomato programme. Next season you want this season's again. Until now that meant typing it out. Now a schedule exports as a file, any Famu farm imports it, and one date, Day 1, moves every application to the new season.
Each application's date, its day number, the products, doses, notes and instructions.
Not who it was assigned to, not what was done, not your farm or anything else on it.
What goes into the file
A file leaves your farm, so it carries the plan and nothing about the people behind it.
Export on a schedule's page downloads a small file ending in .famu-schedule.json. Send it on WhatsApp, by email or on a flash disk. It is not a printout (that is the PDF button); it is the schedule in a form Famu can read back.
In the file the plan
- Title, enterprise, description
- What Day 1 was, and its date
- Each application's date and day number
- Products, doses, notes, instructions
Never in the file the farm
- Who it was assigned to
- What was done or skipped
- Tasks, and who recorded it
- Your farm, its plantings or its people
Pick a new Day 1, and every date follows
Try it: change the date. Each application keeps its day and gets a new date.
Work before Day 1, like preparing the beds, stays before it: a negative day, a date that moves with the rest.
Import on the Schedules page reads the file and opens the ordinary New schedule form with every application filled in. Nothing is saved until you press Save schedule, and the saved schedule is marked Imported.
Move Day 1 first, then correct single dates. Changing Day 1 again resets every dated line to its day.
Refused with a reason, never half-read
Not a Famu schedule
- A photo, a spreadsheet, or a damaged file
- Famu says so; nothing opens
A line with no date
- A line has neither a date nor a day
- It is left out, and the form says how many
- Everything else opens for you to check
The rules for a schedule that travels
A draft, not a save
An import opens the New schedule form. You check it; you save it.
Who can do it
Anyone who can see a schedule can export it. Importing needs permission to create schedules.
Up to 200 applications
A bigger file is refused rather than cut short.
Newer files wait
A file from a newer version of Famu is refused with a request to refresh, never guessed at.
Days, not just dates
Every line carries its day from Day 1, so it fits any season.
Marked as imported
An imported schedule says so, so you know its dates came from somewhere else until you checked them.
The file is a copy
Change the original later and the copy does not follow
An imported schedule is a new schedule on the farm that imported it. Fixing a dose on the original does not reach it. For a programme you will reuse every season, save it as a template instead.
Earns its keep for
- Sharing a programme with a neighbour, a cooperative or a farm you advise
- An agro-vet who uses Famu sending their programme to customers
- Carrying one season's programme into the next
Does little for
- Printing for the store wall (use PDF)
- Something you reuse every season on your own farm (use a template)
