The paper from the agro-vet, kept

You leave the agro-vet with a page: spray this on the 24th, that on the 28th, this vaccine at week three. The page goes in a drawer and a date gets missed. In Famu the paper becomes a schedule: read off a photo, checked by you, and turned into reminders for whoever does the work.

What you do 1 photo

Photograph the paper, or a note with one more spray on it. Famu reads the dates, the products and the doses.

What it never does Guess a dose

Every line waits for you to check it. A smudged figure is left blank for you to fill in, not made up.

1Schedules · New schedule

From a page in a drawer to dates on a phone

The same programme, kept two ways.

A schedule is the paper, kept where it is seen: a title, the planting, batch or animal it is for, and one card per date with what to apply and how much. Tie it to the tomato plot and it shows on that plot's own page too.

Scan schedule on New schedule reads a photo or a PDF of up to 8 pages. You can always type it instead; everything a scan fills in, you can fill in by hand.

The 24th spraySide by side

On paper in a drawer

  1. The agro-vet writes the programme
  2. Only the person who visited knows it exists
  3. The 24th passes; nobody is reminded
  4. Someone finds the paper a week late

In Famu a schedule

  1. Photograph it; check the lines; save
  2. Create tasks for whoever sprays
  3. A reminder two days before, and on the day
  4. Mark it done; it lands in the plot's spray log
2A schedule · Add application

One more spray, from a photo of the note

Try it: scan the note, then remove a line you do not want. Nothing is saved until you press the button.

Add applicationTry it
The agro-vet's note Tomatoes — Plot A
Sat 24th: Ridomil 50g + Bio-mix 100ml
Sat 31st: Amistar 100ml
7th: Copper-Mate 2 spoons — lower leaves only

One blank application, waiting. Scan the note to fill it in.

A note with several dates becomes one card per date. The blurred dose comes back blank, marked for you, because a wrong dose is worse than an empty box.

The scanner sits on Add application as well as on New schedule: Scan application picks a photo or PDF, and on a phone Take photo opens the camera. Each product name is checked against your own input and vaccine catalogues first, so it comes back spelled the way you already have it.

Anything you had already typed on the form stays; the scan adds its dates after it.

4What you can rely on

The rules that keep a scan honest

Checked before saved

A scan only fills in the form. Nothing reaches the schedule until you press Add application or Save schedule.

Blank, not guessed

A figure the scan cannot read is left empty. You fill it in or leave it out.

Who can scan

Anyone who can add to schedules, workers included, once AI is switched on for Famu. Deleting needs a manager or admin.

Done stays done

Re-scanning a new paper with Edit all never touches an application already marked done or skipped.

Up to 8 pages

A photo, or a PDF of up to eight pages, per scan.

Your farm's only

Schedules, and the photos read to make them, belong to your farm. No other farm can see them.

!Worth saying out loud

A first draft, not the truth

Handwriting is hard. Check every line

The scan reads printed and neat handwritten pages well and messy ones less well. It can read a 7 as a 1. Check each date and dose against the paper before saving.

Scanning needs a data connection and the AI features switched on. Without them, the same form takes typing.

Earns its keep for

  • Spray programmes for tomatoes, cabbages, onions and other vegetables
  • Vaccination programmes from the vet for a flock or a herd
  • Farms where the person who visits the agro-vet is not the one who sprays

Does little for

  • A one-off treatment with no follow-up dates
  • Work with no fixed date, such as weeding when it is needed

The example follows the app's rules: one card per date the scan reads, a typed row kept and the scan added after it, an unreadable dose left blank, and the button counting what will be added.

The products and doses shown are examples, not advice. Follow the label and your agro-vet.
