Sold, and
actually paid
A sale is two facts: what left the farm, and whether the money came back. The second one is where farms lose track, with the trader who will "bring it on Friday". Famu records both, on the same sale, and keeps the balance until it is cleared.
Thirty trays at 9,000 to the shop in town. Cash on the day, receipt printed.
Forty broilers, 400,000. The hotel paid 250,000 on delivery. The rest stays on its sale.
A month's milk on account. "Payment received" left off, so Money Owed is keeping it.
One button per thing you sell
A farm that keeps only dogs should never be offered an egg sale.
Each kind of sale has its own button and its own form: broilers by the bird or by the kilo, eggs by the tray, milk by the litre, livestock priced whole, manure by the sack or the lorry load, and a crop from its planting. You only see the buttons for the enterprises your farm runs. Tick some below.
A harvest sold at the farm gate can be recorded from the harvest form in one go. It is still an ordinary crop sale here, linked to its picking.
Priced the way you quote it
Buyers pay per tray. Some of them also take a few loose eggs.
Enter the trays, any loose eggs and the price per tray. Loose eggs are charged at the tray price shared across the eggs in a tray, which is 30 unless you change it. For broilers, milk, manure and crops it is the familiar pair: fill the quantity and the price and the total follows, or type the total and Famu works out the price for one.
Paid, part paid, or on account
Paid in full is one tick. Anything else is a list of what came in.
A sale paid in full on the day needs one switch: Payment received. Leave it off and the sale is unpaid. If the buyer paid part of it, add each payment with its amount, how it was paid and the date, and the sale shows its balance instead.
The list's badge follows: Paid, Balance 150,000 or Unpaid. The Sales page's Outstanding tile adds up every balance, and Money Owed shows the same balances grouped by customer.
Regular buyers, and a receipt for each
A buyer you sell to more than once is worth saving as a customer: name, phone, where they are, and what they buy (eggs, milk, broilers, crops). When the milk is ready, filter Customers by Buys to see who to call. A saved customer is one person on Money Owed however their name was typed on the day.
Every sale has a receipt behind the small receipt icon, with your farm's details: printed on a full A4 page or a 58mm or 80mm receipt printer, or saved as a PDF to send. Anyone on the farm can print one. If the crop or batch is published for buyers, the receipt carries its QR code.
The rules that protect a sale
A sale is fixed after a day
A sale can be changed or deleted only within 24 hours of being recorded, and only by someone allowed to edit sales: by default, the admin. After that what was sold, the price and the buyer are fixed, enforced by the database. Payments are the exception: money that comes in later can still be added.
A closed batch is closed
Sales from a completed batch are read-only until the batch is reopened, so a finished round's profit cannot drift.
Who can do what
An admin can do everything. A manager can record sales and manage customers. Workers do not see sales.
One figure everywhere
The balance on a sale, the Outstanding tile and Money Owed all use the same two sums: what the sale came to, and what has been paid on it.
Credit that outlasts a day
A late payment is added, never edited
When a buyer pays next week, open the sale (or tap Record payment on it) and add the payment. It cannot be more than the balance still owed. When the payments reach the total, the sale is marked paid and leaves Money Owed. Anyone who can record sales can do this, as long as the sale's batch is not completed.
A payment added after the first day cannot be changed or removed, so check the amount and date before you save it.
Famu does not record credit terms, such as "pay within 14 days". A balance is aged from the day of the sale.

- Buyers who pay part now and part later, even weeks later
- Handing a proper receipt to a hotel, school or exporter
