Your farm,
in a WhatsApp chat
WhatsApp is already open on your phone all day. Connect your number to Famu once, and you can ask about your farm — how it is doing, eggs today, the maize in the lower garden, cow 014, what you sold this month, who owes you — and tell it what happened: 120 eggs, 3 birds died, 20k on transport. It answers as you, and it saves nothing until you tap Yes, save.
You send a one-time code from your own phone. A number typed into a profile is never enough.
A worker's answer leaves out the money, exactly as their screens in Famu do.
Every entry is read back first. No answer in 10 minutes and it is dropped. Undo for 5 minutes after.
The code proves the phone is yours
Anyone can type your number into a form. Only you can send a message from it.
Tap Connect WhatsApp and Famu makes a code of eight letters and numbers, good for 15 minutes. Open WhatsApp starts a chat with Famu's number with LINK and the code already typed in; on a computer you scan the QR code instead. When it arrives, WhatsApp itself tells Famu which number sent it, so the link is to the phone in your hand.
The code works once. A number that sends five wrong codes in an hour has to wait the hour out. One number belongs to one Famu account, and one account to one number. Try sending it from the wrong phone.
Ask the way you would ask your manager
It looks it up on your farm, as you, and answers in a line or two.
Send hi to see what you can ask. "How is my farm?" gets a snapshot of everything. Ask for your plantations, then name one — "the maize", "lower garden" — for its whole record; ask how many cows or goats you have, then send a tag for one animal. What you sold or spent this week, last month or this year (the last 30 days if you name no period); who owes you, oldest first; eggs today; how a batch is doing; what the notes say about nest boxes; which vaccinations, schedule items and tasks are coming up. "How do I record a sale?" gets the steps from this Help Center and a link.
It reads with your role on that farm, so it can never tell you more than your own screens in Famu would. On more than one farm? Send farm and pick. Change the role and ask the same thing.
Say what happened, check it, tap Yes
It writes the same entry the form in Famu would — but only after you agree.
"120 eggs from layers A today", "3 birds died in house 2", "bought 5 bags of layers mash for 450k", "paid 20k for transport", "sold 10 trays to Mama Joy for 120k, not paid", "remind me to fix the gutter tomorrow". Famu replies with exactly what it will save and three buttons. Two batches it could mean? It asks Which batch?
A second egg count on the same day adds to that day, and the reply shows the new total. Saved by mistake? Undo works for 5 minutes. Tap the buttons.
The farm admin has the last word
A member connects their own phone. Whether it reaches your farm is your call.
Under Users & Roles → WhatsApp a farm admin sees everyone who connected WhatsApp to the farm — the last 3 digits of their number, when they connected and when they last used it. A lost phone, a worker who has left, a busy harvest week: Suspend pauses one person, Remove takes the farm off their WhatsApp until you allow it again, and Turn off stops it for the whole farm.
Nobody is disconnected and their other farms are untouched — the assistant just tells them why it won't answer here. Every change is in the Activity Log. Change Grace's access and send her message again.

The rules that keep it yours
Proved, not guessed
Only a code sent from the phone links it. A phone number on a profile never gives anyone your farm.
Never more than your role
Every answer and every entry goes through the same checks as Famu's own screens, on the farm you picked.
Nothing saved without Yes
An entry waits for Yes, save. Change, Cancel or 10 minutes of silence and nothing is written.
Marked, every time
The Activity Log shows each entry as yours, via WhatsApp.
Admins and managers first
A farm admin decides whether workers may use it, on the Roles page.
The farm admin can pause it
Suspend one person, remove the farm from their WhatsApp, or turn it off for everyone — logged, and the member is told.
Yours to switch off
Disconnect on Integrations or Profile and it stops at once. Deleting your account deletes the link.
A menu made for you
Send hi and it lists only what your role can open — a worker is never told to ask about money they cannot see.
What it does not do yet
Typed messages, one farm at a time
It reads typed messages only: photos of receipts and voice notes are coming. It works on one farm at a time — send farm to switch. A question it cannot place from your words is worked out by AI, and that counts toward your farm's AI allowance; everything else costs nothing.
Undo removes an entry it just made (or puts the day back as it was); after 5 minutes, correct it in Famu. Your messages, and the farm details in its answers, pass through WhatsApp (Meta). The assistant is on for every farm; if Famu ever has to pause it for everyone, a message to Famu's number reaches our team instead.
Earns its keep for
- Managers who walk the farm with a phone, not a laptop
- Logging the day's eggs and deaths in one line, standing in the house
- Owners checking in from town: "how is my farm?", "who owes me?", "sales this month?"
Does little for
- Long or detailed records — a sale with many items, a payroll — those are quicker in Famu
- Photos and files: add those in Famu for now
