Start a batch before the chicks arrive

Chicks not in yet? Save the batch without a placement date, record costs now, and add the date when they arrive.

1. Open Poultry → Batches and tap New batch.
2. Under Start Date, tick “Placement date not known yet — I’ll add it later”.
3. Record the chick deposit, brooding costs and preparation work straight away.
4. Until it has a date the batch shows in amber with an alarm clock, and Home lists it under things that need attention.
5. When the chicks arrive, open the batch and tap Add placement date. The vaccination plan, sell date and milestones are dated from it.
